Spoke with good friend Jim Tucker several days ago about his cruizin days back in the 70s. Saultite Jim Tucker comments "That was Rick Muncaster's 240Z way back when. PRICE ALERT - 15 CENT BURGERS down from 19 CENTS. Due the numerous comments that I recieved about my recent Sandy's drive-in post I believe it deserves a special update feature. Frank Plastino, the Manager at the time comments -" Joseph, Sandys opened in 1967, the burgers then were 15 cents, then they went to 19 cents. We were capable of making 63 burgers every 3 minutes. THE HOME OF THE 19 CENT HAMBURGER...... Sandy's Drive-in was a mainstay go to place in the early 1970s for many teenagers, in the evenings as they cruised Queen. The design of the building was ultra modern and the 19 cent hamburger was very affordable as the price would suggest.
