In case you’re not sick of snow already… One of my favourite reading categories has been ‘exploration’. It started with Everest, moved to the Poles and then I found other insane/true accounts that I couldn’t put down. Here are a few of my favourites ⛰️ What reading rabbit hole have you gone done?

If you like a quick and spooky read, give this book a try! It's a short, easy read with not a lot of character depth but it kept me entertained. Available free on Kindle Unlimited too!

This will definitely be on my 2025 reading list. Hemingway spent time at Walloon Lake near Petoskey over his first 22 summers, and cut his writing teeth at the Toronto Star, where he wrote a memorable piece about Sault Ste. Marie’s rainbow trout fishing.

I read very widely. Stuff I agree with. Stuff I profoundly disagree with. I try to understand mindsets different from my own. Just finished this 1902 novel by Harold Bell Wright, the largely forgotten first American fiction writer to sell a million copies of a single book, and the first to make a million dollars. I was interested because the book appears twice in the recent Reagan biopic starring Dennis Quaid, Penelope Ann Miller and Jon Voight

Highly recommend Demon Copperhead, Barbara Kingsolver's Pulitzer Prize winning novel. For fans of Kingsolver, you won't be disappointed. For those unfamiliar with Kingsolver, you're welcome. :) There's a Black Friday deal on at Amazon (link below).

I just finished reading "The Second Mrs. Astor" by Shana Abe. The subtitle is "A Heartbreaking Historical Novel of the Titanic". The visual image of the sinking that this book put in my head....gave me nightmares. It's not new, but somehow I felt it after getting to know the characters in the book.

Happy Sunday Funday everyone! What did you get up to reading this weekend? Me? Well I finished The Puppet Master by Sam Holland! And it was a wild ride. It's a thriller that follows DCI Cara Elliott as she chases another serial killer around the UK. This is the third book by Sam Holland. If you like thrillers, I highly recommend her books. The Echo Man was HARD to put down and incredible for a first time author.

I finished reading "The Inmate" by Frieda McFadden this weekend. Good overall story but I was disappointed in the main character and the ending lol. What books have you read where you've been into the story but then felt let down by the end?

The pain is real. Which would you rather? Or audio? Personally my order would be paperback, hardcover then my Kobo. Really, I'd take anything over a Kobo/Kindle or an audio book. I am on a screen enough throughout the day. And I am not sure why, but I can't get into audio books. I can sit and read for hours but to sit and listen to someone read to me. Nope, I get too distracted and end up missing things.
