How do I rekindle my love for reading ?

I seem to have lost it and can't seem to find an author I like.

I want to start with easy reading.

I can relate to this so much! I feel as though technology has pushed my reading habit onto the back burner sometimes. I recently bought a few classic books that I have never read; Huckleberry Finn, War of the Worlds and Journey to the Centre of the Earth. They are all relatively short books and seemed like they would be easy to consume.

What is your preferred genre of reading? Maybe I have a recommendation.

Sci-fi or fantasy are my preferred... I enjoyed Game of Thrones and also Tom Clancy....(but his books are no longer what they used to be.)

@Jim Mackey if you've never tried Dean Koontz, give him a shot! The "Odd Thomas" series is what got me hooked on him in the beginning.

For me, I find going back and reading a book or author that I loved always helps. I never push myself though. There are times where I'll sit down to read and I end up just sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet instead. I find that if I push myself to read, I end up not enjoying it.
Are there certain genres you enjoy over others? Personally, I love thrillers or mysteries and I could recommend a ton, but what about you?

Thanks... see my answer above. I prefer a series, where I can get into the characters. BUT, right now, I don't want to detailed until I get hooked on reading again.

@Jim Mackey If you enjoyed Tom Clancy books, I wonder if you would like the Reacher series by Lee Child. Yes, there is the Amazon series, but the books are so much better. In case you aren't familiar with the series, here is a small overview.
"After leaving his job as a Military Police major, Reacher roams the United States taking odd jobs. He’ll arrive in town, come across someone who needs his help, solve a mystery and take out the bad guys,

I find that having a book of poetry sometimes helps when I'm in a slump - it's easy to pick up if I just have a few minutes.

Michael Ondaatje released "A Year of Last Things" this year

Mary Oliver is another favourite of mine - "Upstream" is a great volume if you like a selected essays format, or "A Thousand Mornings" is wonderful too
