When we were there last summer, they had removed all the books from the Library for cleaning and restoration. Only the first two cubicles were housed with books. But you are right the Library is worth seeing!

I wrote a paper concerning this amazing piece of history, for a fine arts elective back in the early 1970's. Of course, poor students couldn't afford to visit and look at the real thing, but there were more recent (only 8 or 900 years old) examples available in Toronto and Quebec. Other illustrated manuscripts were housed in the library at Carleton, in what I believe was called the Rare Book Room. Oh to have seen the original ! Part of the

I had read a few articles on this amazing book and was more than thrilled to see it in person last July. You are not suppose to take photos of it, but I did anyway.
