Christmas is coming. Has anyone had any success getting poinsettas to rebloom ?

With colder weather on its way remember to remove your hoses from house spigots and drain them. This will save a costly leak caused by a pipe burst.

What's the best way to dry garden herbs now - such as oregano, rosemary and thyme?

To update you all — we ended up getting a London Plane—a type of sycamore that is more common in Southern Ontario. The landscaping company had 3 of them left over after installing a bunch on Bay Street, so we got a good price.
We were especially interested because these are already quite large—16 feet tall! Excited to get it planted in our backyard!

Harvest Algoma will recycle your jack-o-lanterns and pumpkins. Carved or not. Great way to give back to our community. 🎃🧡

Looking for recommendations / thoughts:
We are planning some backyard changes and we'd like to plant a tree. We have a small-ish property downtown and we would like a tree native to the area that will grow tall, not wide. It will get sun about 3/4 of the day. Something that grows pretty quick is a plus 😊
We are generally excluding evergreens but I do really like white pines. Otherwise, we considered sugar maple and paper birch.

It's time to prep your dahlias for the winter. No need to buy them every year.

Too busy to garden? Buying annuals getting too expensive?
Want to grow perennial veggies that come back year after year in our chilly climate?
Here's your guide to low-maintenance, high-yield plants perfect for the Soo:
1. Asparagus: A springtime favorite that can produce for 20+ years! Plant crowns in well-drained soil and mulch heavily for winter protection.
2. Rhubarb: This tart treat thrives in our summers. Plant in full sun …

Deadline is approaching to get your plants in the ground before it freezes!
I planted this wee plum tree (that started as a clipping) and covered with leaf mulch from last year’s foliage over the weekend.

For those of you who plant garlic, now is the time. (six weeks before ground freeze).
Be sure to mulch well to protect them if you have squirrels or chipmunks. Squirrels love freshly dug soil and will scatter your bulbs all over.

Waiting patiently for the first heavy frost. My garden is done for the year but it's still too alive for a clean up.
