Have you ever wondered how a custom frame is made ? (I mean a 'custom' frame, which in modern materials IE Carbon fibre, are rarely custom, due to high volume manufacturing techniques. A custom frame now, means only a custom paint scheme, nothing more.) That is the beauty of modern steel, or titanium bikes. 'Custom' means tailor made, just like a special dress, or suit...hand made, to fit you perfectly and no one else. If you need a slightly shorter top tube, longer head tube, a shallower seat angle, or perhaps lower your bottom bracket height as you are going to use larger tires all the time. It's a lot more than brazing tubes together ! If you are interested in this, let me know. If I receive enough responses, I can go into more depth concerning frame building. (PS The frame drawing I prepared that is attached to this post, is realised in the photograph of the white bike leaning against my living room window, I posted yesterday)
