A stage winning Tour de France Bike:

Leaning against the wall in the London Pinarello Store's workshop, was a lovely looking Pinarello F, in Team INEOS Grenadiers livery. Upon closer examination, I see Tom Pidcock's name on the top tube and had to ask, is this what I think it is....oh yes, it is only one of the three in existence he used at Le Tour.

So many many minutes later, after looking at it from fork, to rear derailleur, sadlle, to bars, to tires, I have come to an interesting conclusion. Although many riders have a few bespoke parts (Yes, I mean you, Tadej), this bike is all standard equipment, that you and I can buy at our local bike shop. (DuraAce wireless derailleurs, et al). Also, Tom is pretty small...look at how tiny the frame is, but typically the pros ride a size or two smaller than you or I, with a further extended seat post and a longer stem (slammed of course).

What a fun day ! (My apologies to the kids, as although both my boys ride and my daughter even rides a Pinarello F8 herself, they had other things they wanted to see that day, such as the Tait Modern Gallery, etc)

Holding Tom's bike. (6.9 kilos BTW) Tom's bike, just hanging out in the service shop out back)
