The Sault Female Hockey Association (SFHA) is proud to announce the Deb Sims Memorial NOWHL Tournament, a heartfelt tribute to a remarkable woman who left quite the mark on our community. This event, taking place from February 28 to March 2, 2025, will honor Debbie’s dedication to girls hockey and her legacy of kindness, generosity and friendship.
Deb’s journey with the association began as the devoted manager of her granddaughter Lily’s team, but her impact extended beyond the rink. Debbie’s spirit touched everyone she met. Joining the SFHA board two years before her passing, she contributed countless hours to ensuring the success and effectiveness of our league. Her legacy is one of inclusion, support, and inspiration—values that the SFHA continues to carry..
This exciting tournament in Debbies honour will feature competition across divisions including U11AA, U13A, U13B, U15BB, and U18BB. Hosted at the Northern Community Centre and John Rhodes Community Centre, the event promises an unforgettable hockey experience with teams from Northern Ontario and Northern Michigan coming together to celebrate the spirit of the game.
