Noob question! The side of my porch slopes downward. I’m replacing my old porch skirting and the old panels had a long angled piece that sat above the trim in order to make the trim level.

I’m cutting an angled line into a 1x3. It will be a 1.5” slope over the length of 7ft. What’s the best way to make such a long angled cut in a narrow board? A table saw seems like it would be unsafe; a circular saw might be tough to cut on such a narrow board; maybe a jig saw?

Another thought would be to take a long board with a straight edge, and place it on a table saw so that it just clears the fence. Then take the board you want to taper, and set it on the straight board at the angle and position you want the cut to be made. Now screw down you board you want to cut to the straight board, and use the straight board as a guide along the fence to make your tapered cut. Basically a poor-man's tapering jig.

@Bill Nash Smart! That would make a much cleaner cut than my jig saw skills
