Dull planer blades (knives) can be the bane of a woodworker. Good ones can be costly to buy, but my solution is 100% local. I take my planer blades to "The Cutting Edge" at 90 St. Andrews Terrace to be sharpened. The original blades I have on my planer were only sharpened on one side, ... the opposite side was just a raw blunt metal. They not only sharpened the original side, but they also created and sharpened the unfinished side to give me the option of flipping the blade to increase its lifespan. DeWalt has since started making the blades double-sided. I own the planer in the photo. Best model I have found for the price on the market.
I also buy my custom made band saw blades from them. Check them out for anything that needs sharpening.
