Anyone got winter projects in the works?

I’ve got door and trim refinishing that will keep me busy for a while: scrape, strip, wash, sand, refinish repeat.

I’ve managed to get through many layers of old paint and down to bare wood.

I’ll post progress pics in a separate update 😜

That’s exciting! Are you doing the whole house, one room, one area, etc?

In the summer I spent a couple weeks stripping 4 layers of old wallpaper off our plaster walls 🫠 in some cases the wallpaper was holding the plaster together. These sorts of time-consuming, messy projects are tedious but satisfying in the end

Oh plaster held together with wallpaper!?! These houses are a wild ride.

I’m working on trim in two rooms - one is shellac finish (made from dead beetle 😬 not so fun fact) so it just requires methyl hydrate, steel wool and lots of elbow grease 😜

Making a corner curio cabinet for my wife. I found some nice oak cabinet doors with glass windows that will make a nice cabinet. I have to make the cabinet fit the doors, and then stain match the door stain. I could just strip of the old stain, but I have matched up stains before with pretty good success. The patina of the doors finish is something I don't want to change.
