When Davis Clothing store was downtown on Queen. The Davis family was widely loved in Sault Ste. Marie. My great-uncle Arthur worked at Davis before starting his own business, “Montgomery Menswear”

From the Sault Ste. Marie Museum Archives - Although the most snowfall recorded in one season was 578 cm in 2014-2015, one of the most memorable winter storms in the Sault was December, 1995! It's small pieces of our history like this we can easily save. Even if it may just be someone else's trash. I urge anyone else to make an effort to try and see where it may have ended up. Classic signs has been emailed, hopefully some bit of it can be saved.

Since we're talking about snow storms... The winter of 1923 proved to be a record breaker even as the season was coming to an end. A storm on April 7th and 8th of that year saw 30 inches of snow on the ground with drifts reaching 8-10 feet high in the city and even higher in surrounding areas. Have the past couple days been feeling a little familiar? Though it's not even close to the amount we got dumped on us in 1995, it sure feels like we're making up for the past 2 relatively snow-less winters.
