Looking at the Soo Today Obituaries is of course, sad, but I appreciate that they include the nicknames of the people that have died. Growing up, many of my family friends and relatives had nicknames and I was the last of my family to do so (Butch). When my father died in 2000, my mother didn't include his nickname (Bones) in the announcement as she thought my grandmother would be offended. We were approached often after his death, people saying that they would have attended his wake if they had known, but they only knew him as Bones. Grateful for the inclusion of nicknames.
