Fort Wasguhaegun was constructed at the Sault Locks near the swing bridge in the 1960s. It was a replica of a trading post in the area from years gone by. Street actors would play out scenarios though to be experienced by early fur traders. They even had large canoe races down the canal. It grew out of popularity very shortly, and the timbers were refurbished to construct the Hiawatha ledge on the 4th line.
