So I have been reading John Gynne for quite sometime, an author that writes fantasy fiction, and have enjoyed his books. I am finishing a 3 book series, called The Bloodsworn Trilogy. They are The Shadow of the Gods, The Hunger of the Gods, and the Fury of the Gods. I am also putting together my summer reading list, which by the way is getting quite long.

I highly recommend Empire of Pain. It’s about the Sackler family, who invented pharmaceutical marketing, and produced the forerunner of the opioid epidemic - OxyContin. It’s truly shocking.

Another favourite author! I read The Glass Castle a while ago & was very excited to spot this on the shelf at Value Village ☺️. It was such a beautiful read. The novel is a memoir of her grandmothers life and it is told in such a magnetic way.

Read this one for Book Club ❤️ It was a great meditation on how we think about giving versus transacting, how it affects individuals and communities, and it made me want to snack on raspberries every time I picked it up ☺️

Okay, so, I just finished this massive book series. And now I'm just sitting here waiting for the next book in the series to come out, which is killing me. Anyway, I was SO excited to start this other book I kept hearing about. But, I finished it last night, and...honestly? It was kinda a let down. Whenever I find myself getting stale and sarcastic about the carrying-ons of our politicians, I pick up a book about some old-school stoner who takes a road trip. While I personally remain sober as a church mouse, that’s my way of dealing with the madness.
