If you have bird feeders set up in your yard and you have at least a few minutes to spare to count birds throughout the day, you can become a Feeder Watcher.
If you would rather join a group and search a designated area by foot or vehicle, you could volunteer as a Field Counter. It's a good way to get some experience finding and identifying birds.
