I used to live quite rural up on Maki Road near the wind turbines. One spring when I ventured out onto my deck, I was greeted with this Barred Owl sitting on a deck post. I took my first photo of it from about 20 feet away so as to not scare it away. I crept closer and kept taking photos, until I was able to take this one from about 4 feet away, ... it even turned and posed for me, ... living with nature is GREAT!
