One can imagine that a Caribbean Christmas is very different from a Canadian Christmas. For one...we have little to no snow hahahahah who am I kidding ?! We have ZERO snow!!

Rather the rain forest on my island is quite lush this time of year- as Christmas comes at the end of the Hurricane season when we have had a lot of rain.

For me, my Christmas Holidays were spent making memories with my maternal grandmother. She was an exceptional chef but at Christmas her skills were elevated( at least in my 7 yr old self opinion lol). Alot of time was spent cooking during the holidays but we made sorrel drink and baked fruit cake/black cake while playing Caribbean Christmas music the most.

More than anything else Christmas was about giving. We made sure to add a bit of happiness, by sharing what we made in our tiny kitchen every year.

Attached are 4 popular Caribbean christmas food/ drinks

1. Sorrel (Hibiscus) drink
2. Trinidadian Black Cake
3. Caribbean Christmas Ham
4. Ponche de creme drink

I also added 2 Caribbean Christmas songs for you guys below.

Many if not all of our Caribbean Christmas songs have storylines. They are very entertaining- one cannot help but dance too !!Enjoy !!

Happy Holidays
