Welcome, Patrick! Which is more satisfying: playing bass on a song, writing the song, producing the song, or engineering the song?

Thanks for the welcome David, I'm personally more attached to producing the song, there's a creative agency involved in that process where your musical personality shines through in subtle ways. It's a unique insight that you bring to the table based on your own musical interests and skills. That being said, I love all of the different steps involved with this process, especially when they start to merge together!
Hi everyone,
I'm one of the co-hosts of the music space. I'm a local musician and audio engineer with an education in popular music, film and audio post-production.
I have experience performing in label-signed acts and songwriting, producing, mixing, mastering and engineering records to commercial standards. Most recently, I was honoured to be nominated for a 2024 Northern Ontario Music And Film Award for Outstanding Engineer.
Currently I'm an employee of Rolling Pictures as a full time sound engineer doing audio post-production for film and television.
I hope to share my knowledge with the community, and give valuable insights into topics such as: home recording, the music industry, songwriting, school recommendations, performance tips, and all aspects of music production. I also have extensive product knowledge having worked in pro audio retail for several years, and I'm honestly just a passionate music geek.
I'll be promoting the local music scene here in Sault Ste. Marie, as it's a scene that has many talented individuals that deserve to be heard. I look forward to working with the other co-hosts in growing and supporting this great music community.
