Goooooooooooood morning Sault Ste Marie. With coffee in hand, lets get things started.
With Christmas just 2 weeks away, work is busier than normal but I'm trying to keep up with events going on around town and a far.

So I'm planning on retiring in about a couple of years, may be 3, depending on how my sore joints hold up. I was looking for something to do to fill all the spare time I will have on my hands. So I always wanted to learn to play the guitar and would appreciate any advice about what guitar would be good for a beginner and taking lessons. Please let me know. Thanks

The local scene:
It is said to say that local band SoundCheck is having a farewell party at YNCU Curling Club on New Years Eve. Tickets are $25.00 and available at soocurlers.com
Doors open at 7:30pm. Champagne included. This will be the party of the year as this talented group of musicians say farewell and thanks you for all the support our community has shown them.

The Blues for Food was a great success this year and collected a total of $5,507 ($2,607 in cash and $2,900 in perishable goods. A huge thank you to those who put on this show every year and a big shout out to all of the local musicians who gave of their time for this very special cause.

For all Elvis fans everywhere, Mike Catling is preforming at Jays Piston Broke Pub on Sunday Dec 22 from 2 to 4 pm. I'm marking this one on my calendar for sure. So spend Christmas with Elvis and have a very Blue Christmas.

Bourbon Blue has a few remaining shows before 2024 comes to a close, This weekend they are Jays Piston Broke Pub Dec 13 and 14th starting at 9:30 pm
They are also performing at our Casino New Years Eve.

Soo Blaster is having a New Years party. Tickets are $25.00 and doors open at 8pm

As always support your local bands and watering holes during the holidays and make your plans for New Years Eve. The new year will be here before you know it.

From a far:

Well the rumors are true that AC/DC' s Power Up tour is coming to rock your socks off at a venue near you. Opening band is The Pretty Wreckless. A list of concert dates can be found on their facebook page. For Canadians they are in Vancouver April 22 and near us in Detroit April 30th. For those about to rock we salute you.

So there you have it folks. If I hear anything important going on you will hear it here. If you think of anything that local folks want to know about drop it in this space.

As always, stay tuned, stay safe, and be kind.
