I am having eavestroughs installed, and the downpipe will terminate into a 4" underground pipe which I will drain away from the house.

It's a short run underground (maybe 8ft) but will be under a walkway so I want to get something that: will not crack with temp changes/freezing water, and will not get crushed underground.

I've read that PVC is not good for our climate, that corrugated is cheap but not very strong. Not sure if anyone sells double-walled corrugated here in SSM. Recommendations are welcome.

In my opinion, PVC pipe (often referred to as sewer pipe) will be best. 3" or 4" diameter - 10' lengths. You'll have the choice of solid or perforated. PVC has been used for years in our climate and shouldn't give you any issues. You'll want to slope it so that the water runs away instead of filling the pipe. We stock it at my store and probably available at most others. I agree with Dennis that corrugated (weeping tile) is not the best, as

Appreciate the insight. I think what I've seen is mostly about frost heave cracking the glued PVC joints, but the only joint I'll have is the corner that goes up to the downpipe
