It is essentially where Europe goes to cycle in the off-season. You can ride flat lands through farms and along a good portion of the coast, or climb some really high mountains. The roads are in great condition and if you are there before the regular tourist season, there are not a lot of cars either ... However I would not go in the Sumner.
The pros were in Majorca last week and this is the 15th anniversary of when my buddy and I went to see the race firsthand. As mentioned in a previous post, we rode the same roads as the race, but zig zagged a slightly shorter route, so we could see them pass several times each stage. I watched this year's Palma stage the other night on YouTube. The cathedral in the background was certainly a familiar sight. (Unfortunately, so was the dreadful weather we all rode through the second last day (2nd photo))
