Hello again everyone. This is the third entry in my series of bikes that I built. This time I'll be showcasing an Apollo Gran Sport that I brought back (close) to what it originally was. When I received the bike, someone had converted it to a single speed fixie (I know you would have liked it Andre). I also received a "bag of parts" at around the same time, which turned out to be an almost complete Shimano 600 groupo of the Arabesque generation. Only the hubs were missing. Since the frame was a Tange Champion No. 2 from the late '70s or early '80s, the 600 components would be a good fit. I managed to find a pair of 600 hubs online for a reasonable price, and although they're not exactly the same generation, they're a close match. Also, the shifters were configured for a frame with braze-on mounts which this frame didn't have, but luckily, I had some spare parts, and between the 2 sets, I made 1 set of shifters. For the rims, I always liked the elegant shape of the rims Araya offered at the time, so I used a pair of those from my stock. Finally, as a personal touch, I mounted small reflectors on the fender eyelets, using Meccano parts for the brackets. Enjoy!
