I think we might have dreamt of a White Christmas a little too hard this week. With only 7 days left until the lights flood the stage for our opening night performance, it has been a very long week of rehearsals. I speak for the entire cast when I say the last thing we wanted to do tonight as we all headed towards home was shovel the driveway. I knew it was dark and I had my hood on and no one could see me, but I was laughing at the fact that I was sludging through such manual labour with victory rolls in my hair and a full red lip. Shout-out to Maybelline Super Stay lipstick & Tresemme hairspray because the look did not budge!
Once again our super sweet and caring cast & crew were offering rides, helping brush off cars & wishing each other a safe drive home - there was a collective sense of relaxation as we left the theatre tonight, knowing we had a few days break until the crucial 12-hour Sunday cue-to-cue (if you know you know). White Christmas isn’t the only famous song in the show by the way, and we all wish there could be some Blue Skies, smiling at us for the weekend instead of more SNOW as the forecast predicts.
We can hardly believe we are less than a week away from the start of our show run, this massive undertaking that everyone has worked so hard to bring to life. I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has been keeping up with this series, and hope you’re enjoying getting a look at all the action behind the scenes. I have so many more tales to tell now that we have hit the halfway point of 12 Days of White Christmas, but the first order of business is a hot tea and a good night’s sleep.
None of this would be possible without the support of our audience, and each person who has purchased a ticket should know how deeply appreciative every member of the cast, production team & Musical Comedy Guild board are of your patronage. Supporting the arts in our community is a huge gesture and allows experiences like this one to be possible. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, and invite you to spread the word near & far that tickets are still available – this is the perfect opportunity to get into the holiday spirit and we look forward to entertaining you Dec 4-7!
