5 days til opening night and we're all but assured a White Christmas at this point thanks to this blanket of relentless snow. Situations like this can create barriers for even the most privileged of us - the challenges of something so out of our control can certainly give us some perspective. It can be humbling yet a good opportunity to reflect with gratitude; for the necessary winter wear to tackle the job, for a home to warm up in, for friends and family who check in, and kindness from neighbours & strangers.
These acts of kindness extend to all those who donate and volunteer to our partner charitable organization, Christmas Cheer. I thought it was such a great collaboration when they first announced that a portion of proceeds from ticket sales would go to support this important cause.
We're all familiar with this association that undertakes a massive mission every year to bring joy & good spirit to those in need. Year after year the need grows greater. Their depot this year is located at the west end of the Station Mall.
In fact, the White Christmas cast was supposed to help spread some Cheer with carrolling at their depot today, but unfortunately the weather caused a cancellation. We're wishing their team all the best as they dedicate themselves to this important work and make a memorable difference in the lives of so many deserving recipients this holiday season.
Tomorrow, those of us preparing to hit the stage Dec. 4-7 will resume our rehearsals with a long day, and I look forward to sharing some real-time BTS so stay tuned!
