Hi everyone! It’s so nice to see a new and active photography forum here in the Sault. My name is Hanna, and I’m a local photographer. I mainly shoot editorial self portraits, flowers and commercial product photography but occasionally shoot landscapes, architecture or whatever else catches my eye through the viewfinder. I can’t wait to see and enjoy everyone’s work!

The Rising Moon Last Night Wednesday November 13th, 2024 Seen from Bellevue Park Topsail Island in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario An hour was spent in Bellevue Park last night after supper capturing night exposures of the moon partially covered by a thin layer of cloud that was moving in. This moon will be full tomorrow Friday November 15th, 2024 and will be known as the Beaver Moon as this is the time of year when beavers begin to take shelter in …

Thanks for hosting this forum to share knowledge and appreciation of photography. I'm an amateur who mainly uses my cell phone for photos these days. It takes reasonable photos, and when travelling is much more convenient than lugging around my DSLR. I do miss having better control over the camera settings, but it's a compromise I'm willing to accept. Here's a photo I took at Crystal Falls before the fall rain started.

Cell Phones vs Full Featured Cameras Found on the Internet an article that speaks volumes to me re Cell Phones vs a Full Featured Camera. Cathy Kuhlman Cathy is an avid nature photographer who enjoys pushing the limits of light and focus to create thoughtful images. She is also an accepted member of Click Pro, which is an association of professional female photographers. In front of her camera you're likely to find pretty macro subjects, …

Mobile phones have brought photography to the masses. It's now difficult for anyone other than a professional to tell the difference between a cell pic and one taken with expensive equipment. Personally, I leave my 3 cameras safe at home and use my cell, which I always have with me anyways.
