October's Hunter's Moon Seen from the Bluffs of Gros Cap
Because the moon's orbit is close to the earth, this month's full moon is extra bright and is therefore known as a supermoon and is called a Hunter's Moon. The name originated from indigenous people, who benefited from the bright appearance of the moon as hunters prepared for long winters. Hunting also tended to be easier during this time of year because the fields had already been cleared out, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac. I climbed the Bluffs of Gros Cap to get a good look at this event. Nikon Moments occurred.
