A Little About Me Bob McGauley – I am the Host of this Photography Space I majored in Mathematics with a minor in Physics at the University of Waterloo and have a degree in Mathematics. I worked in the Information Services Department at Algoma Steel for 33 years as a Technical Specialist, as an Assistant to the Manager, as an Area Supervisor and Project Supervisor. I retired in 2004. When I was 10 years old (1957) I found a Kodak Hawkeye Brownie Camera in a junk pile and a hobby in black & white photography began. Until colour came along, I took and developed my own photos. During High School I graduated to 35mm and remained with film cameras until the 1990’s when I bought my first digital camera, a Kodak Easyshare point and shoot followed by several Nikon DSLR cameras starting with the D90, D600, D610 and now the D750. I have taken courses in Photography, read text books and have practices continuously learning the art of photography both technically as well as composition. My reason for taking on this role as Host is to be able to pass on to the members of this group, those who are interested, the knowledge I have gained. One of the ways I do this is to conduct a weekly field trip to various locations in the area where we get a meet each other, share photos, and share our talents. Yes, I am looking forward to meeting you, to all that this Space will offer and to have fun.
